5 Tips to Rise And Shine a Little Easier

A friendly reminder: Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 11. And while it’s nice to have an extra hour of daylight, it’s no fun for the few days after we “spring forward” and lose an hour of sleep. Since getting up in the morning will be tricky this week, try these tips to make it a little easier.

  1. Throw some shade. Leave the curtains or shades in your bedroom open halfway to allow natural light to shine in and start to wake you gradually and naturally.
  2. Get moving…or stay still. As soon as you wake up, stretch, go for a walk, or do jumping jacks to get your blood flowing. If that sounds too daunting, take five minutes to meditate.
  3. Adjust your attitude. Start the day by thinking of three things you are grateful for, or by setting a positive intention, whether it’s to keep a smile on your face or nail your work presentation.
  4. Nosh and nourish. Eat a healthy breakfast that includes some protein to help you feel full longer. If you don’t have time to eat before running out the door, drink a glass of water to help you stay hydrated.
  5. Give yourself five. Five minutes to take care of your skin, that is. After you use your R+F Regimen, you’ll be glowing on the outside, even if you’re sleepy on the inside.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover you’re a morning person after all.
